Join in the Song… release and tour

It has been such a long time coming,… and with a little nervousness, I must say… I am so excited about this new music and what God is going to do with it! We held two nights of worship, inviting friends and family to come out to hear the new music and have an advance opportunity to pick up the CD before it releases in June. Somewhere between 600-700 people came out to support us, which was incredible! Thanks to those of you who made it! It really meant a lot to us that you would come out (some of you twice!) and celebrate God’s goodness, and faithfulness with us. The CD doesn’t even officially release until June 3, and we are getting great and encouraging emails from so many of you about songs that minister to you. Thanks for that… it just gives me so much hope to know that God is using this new stuff in a powerful way, and He is going to keep doing that!

So,… June 3… that is the big day of the release. It is funny, because while I have done this so many times before,… this just has a much more intense feeling associated with it. It is like I have worked so hard and poured so much of me into these songs this time, and wrote and rewrote and rewrote again,… getting as honest as possible in these songs, etc,… I have spent far more than I have ever spent on this project and spent so much time on it,… I just have this intense, overwhelmed feeling of release in putting it out there finally,… and hopefully, you, the listener, will appreciate it on a whole new level. I feel like I am “starting over” in a sense… regrouping and reinventing and reemerging,… so we will see what God does with all this. First things first,… We leave June 9 for summer travels… 6 camps. That is always a fun time. Then, as soon as we get home from summer, we have a couple of weeks off until we are suppose to step out on a fall tour. Yes, I said it,… and for those of you who were around during the early days of Fidelis, you know I said I would “NEVER” do that again… well, I digress,.. here we go… gearing up. Even now, I am beginning a process in my mind that is preparing me for what it is that is in the planning stages right now, that will become the first leg of the “Join in the Song” tour… not totally sure what that looks like, but am sure it will be great nights of worship culminating with an invitation for all in attendance to join in His song,… the song of the Redeemed… I am excited about this idea of touring, strangely. I almost hated it when we did it for the fidelis CD… there is this dread that I will wake up in places again and not know where I am. I did NOT like that feeling at all… and then, there is the issue of being enclosed with so many people in a van for so long. Not that I don’t love the band,… but… really? Have you ever been in closed, confined quarters with moody musicians before? Ah well, I am sure that it will all work itself out and we will have so many more stories of how Great God is, the cool people we met along the way, the great (but few) moments of impromptu whiffle ball games,… (morningside… here we come… dustin stretch out this time) : )

This tour will be a little different though,… I will come home far more than I did on the first one. Josh and I both will be home here and there. So, yeah, here is what is different this time around,… I have 3 kids now… THREE! and Josh will have one on the way,… So, Kelly will be manning the fort with THREE CRAZIES running around, and Bethany will be great with child when we take off… poor planning? No… strangely, I say God’s timing…

(The list is endless on this one trust me,… if it were up to me, this CD would have been out last June instead of this June!) So, I know it is God’s timing,…

Alright,… this post has been long! BUT—please pray for us… pray for the release,… pray for the tour plans, pray for tour sponsors… we need them badly! Pray for all the needs of the ministry! I feel like now, more than ever, it is so expensive to do what we do. The costs that we have put out there is nothing short of a small heart attack waiting to happen (!)… and the costs of the tour will be tremendous as well, but,… we know this is where God is moving us to go, so we go…

Join in the Song…

There is finally light at the end of a very long tunnel! The New CD is nearly ready! I have been in nashville back and forth over the past few weeks to put some finishing touches on mixes as well as a few new songs being written. I am excited about all that I am hearing, and am ready to get it out and do some evening of worship touring! First things first,… we will do a few CD release evenings… then, summer is on the verge… after summer, we will be looking into touring the new CD. There are some different things being talked about, so pray for wisdom over the next few months. Pray that all works out financially for marketing, etc,… pray for me and my family as we transition into the new season of life releasing this new music, all while balancing bringing Kyle home into the mix of our craziness we call life!We are very excited! Soon, I will be posting some clips to hear! Take care- I will write more soon!

A good year coming…

So, I am working again… somewhat. We are trying our best to reclaim the normalcy of life that was before Oct. 22 of 2007. We are committed to 2008 being a big, new and great year… all the way around.1. My Nutritionist is back from Iraq.2. She and her husband will begin to tagteam on me as a trainer as well… this should be interesting.3. I am working on new 220 initiatives and that is exciting.4. The record (God willing) will FINALLY come out,… thus creating a need to tour again.5. Jack will turn 2… we already know he is there (he has been in his “trying two’s” since birth! (I refuse to call them terrible two’s because he is too cute and has his own little amazing back story as well) 6. Big Brother Jadon is way into Astros baseball, and spring training is just around the corner… then the season!7. Kyle is coming home! Yes, I said it… I claim it… Kyle is coming home! We are working on it daily,… so step by step, we are reclaiming life. Kelly and I have taken back over the care of our kids, with the help of highly skilled babysitter extraordinaire Laura. She isn’t going to be as full time as we were having with the nannies, but she will be able to help out some here and there. We look forward to the day when we don’t have to take the journey downtown to the NICU, but only when Kyle is home and growing stronger everyday! It is going to be a good year. A year of growth… restoration… good things…Hope all is well in your worlds. Hope we cross paths soon!

Things are really hard right now, so I ask that you keep my family in your prayers.
Today, my wife delivered our 3rd little boy, Kyle. He was born at 10:01 am, weighing 1 lb, 2 ounces,
and 11.5 inches long. He is very small, very very premature.
He was due in mid Feb, so as you can see, today was a shock that none of us
could have ever imagined or prepared for.

Life is precious.
I have never fully understood (thought I did) just how true and amazing it is where
is speaks in scripture (corinthians maybe?) about God who gives us life and breath.
Life is precious.
Kyle is precious. And though we love him very much, I have to trust that God loves him
more than I could ever — even more than Kelly and I combined.

I have no idea what the next 5 minutes holds, much less tomorrow,….
a week from now, whatever, but I know that Kyle, as well as my family…
Kelly, Jadon and Jack need to be covered in prayer.
honestly, sometime, I am not sure how to pray right now.
I am full of many different emotions and thoughts,…
I have faith in God, but still struggle with the why of this… so,…
I am asking for you, those who read this, to pray.
We are begging God for supernatural things.

wierd that doogie howser was so ahead of the curve.
He “blogged” every night,… remember? At the end of every episode, he would type
on his green screen dos computer. A lot of us are going,… whhaaaaat is a green screen dos blah

So, I know that there has been much chatter,… even video blogs about a new CD that is coming… and believe it or not,… it REALLY is coming,… soon – hopefully!
It is so hard to believe that I began this process nearly one year ago. It all began with a buddy of mine encouraging me to record again. Truthfully, I wondered if I was done recording. The passion just wasn’t quite there anymore. However, after much encouragement from many friends (unsolicited encouragement, mind you…) I found myself in nashville, meeting with many people, about the music God had given to me. It was a very strange, yet surreal time to sit and listen to people as they were encouraging me to record. So, fast forward,… here we are today,… we started this thing in april… summer happened. There were a few other setbacks that came into play that were beyond our control, so now,… it looks as if sometime in Oct, the CD will be ready for marketing and advance release to those initial pre-orders (and 220 friends). Jan. should mark the release of the new CD, and hopefully some sort of touring. The CD is tentatively titled “Join in the Song,” which is a line in a song written by me and the maestro josh smith. I pray that this CD will be such a huge blessing. Please pray for all the details that have to come into play. I still need to raise like 25K to pay for all that we are doing, and we would like to release the song “God is faithful” to radio, which costs even more… blah… why does everything seem to cost mucho dinero??? like everytime I turn around, someone else is telling me the cost of something… and it is usually followed by the word “thousand.” I strongly dislike that word right now.
